Take Care of Your Toothbrush

For healthy teeth, your toothbrush is very important. After you brush your teeth it's necessary to take care of your toothbrush by rinsing it well after brushing and making sure its clean. If the bristles on your toothbrush begin to look worn, you will need to change it out for a new one. It is highly important to replace your toothbrush every three months, sooner after an illness like a cold or flu.

Drinks That Affect Your Teeth

What you drink does have an affect on your teeth. Beverages like soft drinks and sugary juices can cause tooth decay. Drinking coffee on a daily basis can cause your teeth to become stained. Drinking less soda and more water, milk and fresh juices can help protect your teeth in the long run.

Flossing

Flossing fosters healthier teeth and gums. Like brushing, there's a right and wrong way to floss because flaws in your flossing can cause damage the gums. What you do is wrap about a foot of floss around your index fingers unroll a fresh section of floss for each tooth, and keep the floss tight against the tooth to break up plaque while leaving your gums in good shape. Some will experience some bleeding.
